First of three policy submissions written in the second week of May 2016, this at the behest of Friends of Moonee Ponds Creek as a long time member, noting the lack of recognition in the discussion paper of the important role of mostly urban Friends of groups in encouraging public appreciation of and voluntary work along waterways.
Not on the radar when that was written, the Chain of Ponds Collaboration now links councils agencies and other interested parties aiming to realise more of the potential of the creek corridor to meet community objectives and respond effectively to ever increasing pressures from uncoordinated urban development.
